Valencia: Where History Meets the Future
Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city after Madrid and Barcelona, is a fascinating blend of centuries-old tradition and cutting-edge modern architecture. Situated on the Mediterranean coast, the city has long been an important link between North Africa and southeastern Europe.
Rich in history, culture and magnificent monuments, Valencia has become an increasingly popular destination for visitors. In recent decades, its skyline and identity have been transformed by the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences, the Oceanogràfic, museums and opera houses, with renowned architect Santiago Calatrava playing a leading role in the city’s modern development.
Valencia has also hosted major international sporting events, including two America’s Cup finals, while its former urban Formula One circuit helped establish the city as an international sporting destination.
