Base Jump Extreme World Championship 2015.
Hotel Bali 5th & 6th June 2015
Free Entrance.
The Gran Hotel Bali in Benidorm will host the VIII edition of the Base Jump Extreme World Championships. This sporting event has amassed great interest and passion among sports fans and the general public, that they flock to the city for the event, which is one of the most dangerous in the extreme sports calendar. Only the best sportmen and women take part in this championship.
Strict regulations select the athletes with the most experience, more than 200 jumps and with perfect physical and mental conditions are just some of the requirements. It is not an easy feat to jump from a height of 160 metres (525 feet approximately), keep your cool and ensure that your parachute opens in specified time limit set by the judges so you are not disqualified.
To date 21 different countries have taken part in the championship. Spain, Sweden, Great Britan, Holand, France, Italy , Belarus, Germany, Columbia and Rusia are just a few of the countries that will be taking part in this years event.
Spain’s competetors are the Catalan, Lluis Rabot and Eder Navacerrada from Seville, both first time participants who aim to achieve a good place in the rankings.
This year, organisers and jumpers would like to pay homage to Dean Potter and Graham Hunt, who are sadly no longer with us.
