Benidorm‘s Low Cost Festival publishes a lineup, which is the envy of the FIB in Benicassim.
The numbers for the Low Cost Festival, which kicks off today in Benidorm, are staggering. All except the ticket price. The more than 23,0000 attendees paid for tickets priced from 30 to 45 euros, including the corresponding distribution costs. The festival visitors will descend on the city to experience what is considered one of the top five music festivals in the country. A position they achieved in the second edition, the first to be held in Benidorm, at the central L’Aigüera Park.
Three stages have been set up throughout the grounds. The colossal stage, renamed Budweiser, located in the bullring, with an estimated capacity of around 10,000. The other two stages, the XTI and the Jack Daniel's, are located in the Julio Iglesias Auditorium and the Óscar Esplá Amphitheater in the same park. The three stages are connected by the main road that crosses the Aigüera facilities from north to south.
The first of the 23,000 Low Cost attendees arrived yesterday in Benidorm to attend the festival's welcome party, which featured Second from Murcia, L.A. from Mallorca, La Habitación Roja from Valencia, and DJ Ángel Idiota.
These performances served as a prelude to testing the 100,000 watts of light and 47,000 watts of sound of the XTI stage, 18 metres wide by 12 metres deep, on which one of the headliners of Low Cost, the legendary band Los Planetas, will perform today.
With more than, triple the watts of light—340,000—the Budweiser Stage, measuring 18 meters wide by 15 meters deep, will feature 40,000 sound systems. Placebo, Editors, Vive Le Fête, and Love of Lesbian will grace the stage over the two days of the festival, among others.
Jack Daniel's will also have 80,000 watts of lighting and 24,000 watts of sound, and some of the most notable bands that will grace this stage will include Vinila and The Lucky Dados, Niños Tokio, Sex Destruction, and Jessie Evans.
But beyond the stages, the Low Cost venue will feature thirteen bars, around one hundred toilets, three rest areas, three food courts, and six picnic areas, in addition to the VIP area. The venue will have two access areas, located on Avenida de la Aigüera, one between the Jack Daniel's and XTI stages, and the other between the latter and the Budweiser stage.
Among the festival's attractions for the most melanophiles is the Record Fair, held in the Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España (the Kings of Spain Square) at the town hall, which will be lively with La Furgo. During the two days of Low Cost, some of the festival's featured bands will be signing albums in the fair's tent, and the releases of all participating groups will be available for purchase.
More than one hundred staff members will ensure security inside the venue, which will open its doors both days at 6:00 PM and will continue its musical activity until approximately 5:00 A.M. After this time, the entertainment shifts to Benidorm's numerous venues.
