Just after 10:45 p.m., to the gentle strumming of a Spanish guitar, the Almerian singer took to the stage. Dressed in a simple black suit, he settled into a chair softly lit by candelabras, to the audience's delight, who broke into applause the moment he appeared.
David Bisbal, performing back-to-back shows at Benidorm Palace with his new acoustic set, opened the evening with a heartfelt tribute to his homeland, Almería—a recurring theme throughout the night. Clearly, he had no intention of letting go of his roots, proudly honouring his birth place.
His trademark warmth and humility shone through each time he addressed the audience. Bisbal explained that the concert would be a journey through the greatest love and heartbreak songs from the 1970s to the present day, also paying homage to the legendary composers who have influenced his career. The works of Armando Manzanero, Joan Manuel Serrat and Alejandro Sanz featured prominently, with renditions of Adoro, Lucía, and Ella.
The crowd, engaged from the very start, responded enthusiastically, showering him with flowers, and countless gifts, all of which, he gratefully acknowledged throughout the performance. In this warm atmosphere, and despite a full house at the Benidorm Palace, Bisbal made sure to revisit the songs that first brought him national and international acclaim. Backed by a band of string, wind, and percussion instruments, he performed hits like Quién me iba a decir, Al-Andalus, Dígale Usted, and Esclavo de sus besos—all met with spirited sing-alongs from his most loyal fans.
After the main set, Bisbal briefly left the stage before returning for an encore, closing the night on a high with two of his favourite and most recent songs, Mi princesa and Silencio. These featured new arrangements, with changes to the chords and rhythm, adding a special touch to an already intimate show.
David Bisbal brought his acoustic concert to a close just before 1 a.m., leaving the audience thoroughly satisfied and once again proving that his voice and stage presence are a recipe for success.
