The Moors and Christians Fiestas in Villajoyosa are celebrated annually from the 24th - 31st of July in honour of their Patron Saint Martha.
The fiestas which include a spectacular light, sound and firework display as well as the famous "disembarkation" were declared to be of " International Tourist Interest" in 2003. The famous disembarkation on the beach commemorates the battle for the village between the Arab troops and the villagers.
